Adults

Chiropractic is a natural and non-invasive form of health care based on the principle that the body has the innate and inherent ability to heal itself without the use of external interventions, such as drugs or surgery. Chiropractic adjustments remove these interferences (called subluxations) caused by abnormalities in the musculoskeletal relationships of the vertebrae. The nervous system is then able to function properly and is well balanced, enabling the body to heal through its own natural recuperative powers. These subluxations can be caused by any of our daily activities and are proven to help better your life.

Pregnancy and Postpartum

The most common reason a pregnant mother would seek a chiropractor is because she is experiencing back pain and neck pain. All the physical changes and hormones in her body can add up and really take a toll on mom. A chiropractor can help decrease some of the aches and pain by not only checking the whole spine but checking the ligaments that support the body as well. One of the most important benefits of regular chiropractic care throughout pregnancy is creating the most optimal environment for the baby to grow in the womb. Maintaining the mother’s pelvic alignment allows for the baby to have maximal room to grow and can ultimately help baby go head down because of the balanced pelvis.

Not only is prenatal care important but so is postpartum care. Birth can be a traumatic experience on the body no matter if it's an easy birth or not. Every mom should get checked after she delivers her child. Once the baby arrives, mom’s attention is focused on caring for the newborn, often at the price of her own health. This time is the most critical period to heal. With the hormone relaxin still coursing through the body, moms have the advantage to heal, even from the old injuries that were experienced before the pregnancy.

Birth and Infants

The chiropractic adjustment is safe for patients of all ages, including newborns. After an assessment of your child’s spine, the chiropractor will perform a gentle adjustment using her hands or a small tool. This adjustment, alongside the use of chiropractic therapies, serves to remove the subluxation. Subluxations can cause dis-ease, pain, discomfort, etc. It can help relieve colic, tense muscles, torticollis, discomfort, and more.

Chiropractic care is an essential part of your child’s overall wellness. In the United States, more than 17 percent of all chiropractic patients are under the age of 18, according to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Of that 17 percent, nearly 8 percent are five years or younger. While it may seem that children do not need chiropractic at a young age, starting them with preventative care early on in life will set them up for a lifetime of health and well-being.

Children

A child's brain development is rapid and essential, especially during the first couple years of life. Neurological milestones are called as such because a child must achieve them in specific steps in order for proper brain and body development. Children who are colicky, crawling abnormally, clumsy, toe-walking, or constantly constipated are showing symptoms of nervous system dysfunction. Chiropractic care can aid in their healing process and ensure their restoration back to optimal health and function.
